What to Do In and Around Marysville This Fall!

September 17, 2019

Fall is quickly approaching bringing cooler temperatures, apples and pumpkins, colorful foliage, and fun! Are you looking for something interesting to do? We’ve gathered up some ideas that Marysville and local venues are offering you during this special season. Have fun exploring! Click on each name for info.

Pumpkins and Apples, Oh My!

Fall is pumpkin and apple time and there are many farms and orchards in the area to pick your own (no matter your age!) or just go buy them in a local market. Check out these websites for more information; then spend a “day date” or grab your kids or grandkids and make a memory with the whole family.

Jacquemin Farms – Fetch pumpkins from the field, work your way through the straw maze and munch on some apples at this popular farm and market.

CherryHawk Farms – Apples and sunflowers abound at this fun family farm. Come pick some apples and bring home extras for those savory pies!

Leeds Farm – What’s not to love about Leeds Farm? There is something for everyone, whether you’re attending one of their events or just heading out for a visit. Pick pumpkins, feed the goats, have fun with the Back 40 barnyard activities, and so much more!

The Orchard and Company – Numerous activities and entertainment for the kids make this a great destination. Pick apples and pumpkins, eat delicious food from the café, and but fall items from the market.

Maize at Little Darby Creek – Activities include a petting zoo, hayrides, pumpkin patch, and the famed corn mazes. This year’s corn maze celebrates the 50thanniversary of the first moonwalk.

Outdoor Fun

A long walk, in a beautiful location, a hidden winery, the marvels of an underground cavern or castles, and delightful animals are just a few activities you can enjoy outside this time of year. Consider some of these…

Relish the picturesque country views, farms, fields, and a view for miles. This is a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing walk.

Sunrise Sanctuary - This non-profit organization provides permanent shelter of formally neglected, abused, disabled, or unwanted farm and companion animals. They feature Open Barn Days, (Upcoming are Sept. 21 and Oct. 19.) Buy tickets in advance and visit with these wonderful animals. What a unique way to get your animal fix and help them out!

Piatt Castles - Head out for one of their events or just go visit the castles when they are open this fall. They’re pretty amazing! The last day for tours at Mac-O-Chee is October 6. Mac-A-Cheek will remain open weekends through October 27 and will re-open for tours mid-April 2020.
